Charge Nurse, Emergency Department

We’re working on behalf of a 122-bed acute care hospital that has been caring for the communities of Northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. The Joint Commission facility has the county’s largest Emergency Department and has San Luis Obispo County’s only hospital-based Wound Care Clinic. With a medical staff of more than 200 physicians and 400 caregivers and support staff, the hospital specializes in emergency care, obstetrics, orthopedics, digestive disorders, wound care and a broad array of medical, surgical and outpatient services. The hospital has earned an “A” from the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. 

We seek a California-licensed Registered Nurse with two (2) or more years of acute care experience for the role of RN Charge Nurse, Emergency Department. The person in this role will perform the professional functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients.  She/he will coordinate, manage, provide and delegate patient care. She/he will be responsible for meeting the established Standards of Nursing Practice, and promoting cooperation among the health care team.

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and be licensed as an RN in the state of California. Must have two (2) or more years of ER experience in an acute care environment. Preference given to candidate with a BSN and previous charge nurse experience. Must have current BLS, ACLS.

The role offers highly competitive compensation ($98,000 to $150,000 based on experience) and excellent benefits.
