Looking for a change of scenery?  We seek candidates with a Registered Nurse with two (2) or more years infection control experience in an acute care setting for the role of RN Infection Prevention.  In this role you will report directly to the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement and be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the hospital-wide Infection Control Program.  You will Investigate any sudden rise in Nosocomial infection trends, perform statistical analysis of infection control activity, collaborate with the Employee Health Nurse to develop employee health programs related to infectious disease, and work collaboratively with the Bio-terrorism Response Coordinator.  You will serve as the hospital resource person for infectious disease policy, procedure, education and training.  You will act as the facility liaison with licensing and accrediting bodies as it relates to infectious disease, and is responsible for appropriate reporting and regulatory compliance. 

Candidates must have a Bachelors degree in Nursing and have two (2) or more years acute care infection control experience.  Must have knowledge and experience in patient care practices, microbiology, asepsis, disinfecting/sterilization, adult education theory, program administration, and epidemiology.  Must have completed the Center for Disease Control course for IC practitioners or complete the Center for Disease Control course within six (6) months of hire or be APIC certified in Infection Control (or be able to obtain certification within three years).  CPR required.
