Tucson is one of the oldest continually inhabited areas in North America. Hohokam Indians lived and farmed in Tucson for 4,000 years before Spanish missionaries and soldiers arrived in the late 1600s. Tucson is now the second-largest city in Arizona after the state capital Phoenix. With a population of almost a million people, it offers big-city amenities – but with a smaller town feel. Boasting an average 350 sunny days a year and warm dry air, Tucson's climate is ideal for year-round outdoor recreation. In short, it is a great place to live, work, and play. It's the authentic Southwest at its best. With a vibrant art's community, burgeoning culinary scene, rich history and cultural opportunities, and plenty of outdoor adventures, there is something for everyone.
