Looking for a change of scenery? We seek a Registered Nurse with CPUR, CPUM, CCM or other national certification in Utilization Review or Case Management for the role of Director of Case Management at a 140-bed hospital. In this role you will be responsible and accountable for the implementation of the case management program. You will be responsible for developing systems and processes for case/utilization management and discharge planning at the hospital level. You will evaluate and ensure that hospital resources are used appropriately and effectively. You will oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of financial and quality data related to utilization management. You will promote interdisciplinary collaboration and foster teamwork. You will establish and meet case management objectives either personally or through delegation by ensuring that utilization management, discharge planning, and social service policies, procedures, and practices are established and are consistent with those of the hospital and medical staff. You will develop, allocate, and administer the care coordination budget. You will participate in policy decision affecting patient care.
Candidates must have a Bachelors degree in Nursing and be licensed as an RN in the state of California. Preference given to candidates with a Masters degree. Must have five (5) or more years managerial experience in Utilization Review and/or Case Management in acute care (not hospice or home health). Must have at least three (3) years of experience in a leadership role. Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions. Must have strong knowledge of principles of utilization management and case management. Must have computer skills in word processing, excel, data analytics. Must have knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (CMS, Title 22, TJC).
