Looking for a change of scenery? We seek Registered Nurse with a BSN and two (2) or more years of GI/Endoscopy experience in an acute care setting for the role of RN - GI/Endoscopy. In this role you will assume principal responsibility for the total care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of each assigned patient. You will initiate teaching and educates the patient and family and/or significant other to attain optimal health. You will be responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care. You will perform Pre-Op duties including patient assessment and IV initiation in a timely manner. You will perform Procedural Nurse duties including the administration of Moderate Sedation, assessment, monitoring and emergency procedures. You will perform Recovery Room duties including assessment, monitoring and emergency procedures. You will order and maintain supplies. You will perform complete and accurate charing. You will follow up callbacks.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold current California RN license (or have the ability to gain this licensure. Must have current BLS and ACLS certification. Must have two (2) or more years of clinical experience in a GI/Endoscopy setting. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate with people on all levels and able to maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, and co-workers inter- and intra-departmentally. Must possess active listening skills. Must be a compassionate, non-judgmental patient caregiver and advocate. Must demonstrate ability to cross train and work in other areas of nursing care. Must be able to take call and respond within 30 minutes when called.
