Preclinical Account Manager | Biotech

We're working on behalf of a nonprofit biomedical research institute with over 2,000 employees whose mission is to discover precise genomic solutions for human disease and empower the global biomedical community in the shared quest to improve human health. A National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center, the organization has a mammalian genetics headquarters in Bar Harbor, Maine, a facility in Sacramento, California, and a genomic medicine facility in Farmington, Connecticut.

We seek candidates with five (5) or more years of direct biomedical or animal science sales experience including documented, successful field management experience for the role of Preclinical Account Manager.  The person in this role will identify, negotiate, and manage strategic relationships with biomedical, academic and pharmaceutical partners. She/he will assume overall responsibility for ensuring revenue and management objectives are met and exceeded for assigned territory (which may include designated National Accounts). She/he will develop and maintain strong customer relationships, providing consultative solutions and required support. She/he will demonstrate an expertise in the utilization of the mouse as a platform of basic biomedical and drug discovery research and in the solutions provided by the Laboratory to solve research problems. She/he will provide territory management that includes planning, implementation of plans, and reporting of results.  Measures of success include revenue performance versus established sales targets and accepted projects (won opportunities – new and renewed). 

Candidates  must have a Bachelor’s Degree and reside in the greater San Diego or Los Angeles area to meet the needs of the organization's Biopharma clientele.  Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years Preclinical sales experience, preferably in the Services/CRO sector.  Our Ideal candidate will have a base understanding of the drug development process at Biotech and Pharmaceutical companies.
