We seek a Registered Nurse with five (5) or more years if intensive care or step down experience that includes two (2) or more years at the Director level for the role of Director of Nursing, Step Down Unit. In this role you will report to the CNO and be responsible for the operations of a 52-bed Step Down Unit. You will demonstrate productive and efficient management skills. You will excel in identifying and controlling critical cost elements, thereby promoting quality awareness and achieving the highest standard of excellence. You will assist in formulating departmental budgets and adhering to established standards. You will ensure that performance improvement initiatives are implemented. You will monitor staff performance. You will collaborate with staff, physicians, and the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and accurate implementation in accordance with patient care standards.
Candidates must have a Bachelors degree and be licensed as an RN in the state of Florida. Must have five (5) or more years of clinical nursing experience that includes at least two (2) years of experience at the Director’s level. Must have strong ICU/step down experience. Extremely strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in a union environment in a for-profit healthcare system. Candidates must be a change agent who can mentor employees and integrate realignment from a culture standpoint. Must have demonstrated team-building skills. Must have demonstrated experience with high acuity patients.
