It’s a hard place to pigeonhole. To some, Cooperstown is nearly mythical as the “Birthplace of Baseball,” the site of Doubleday Field, and home to The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. To others, it is a treasured historic site, where James Fenimore Cooper, America’s first true novelist and author of The Last of the Mohicans, grew up and set many of his classic works (in and around the Village his father founded). Otsego Lake, which lends the Village such great beauty, is beloved by many for swimming, and fishing. To the nearly 2000 residents who live in Cooperstown year-round. it is a magical place to live, a wonderful place to raise a family, and the perfect setting to start a business away from the hectic lifestyle of huge cities and traffic-filled suburbs.
