Infection Disease Program Director

We’re working on behalf of a 714-bed hospital and Level I Trauma Center whose Infectious Disease Fellowship is an ACGME approved program committed to providing comprehensive training experience in Infectious Diseases.  Their Infectious Diseases section has 10 Infectious Diseases physicians and one nurse practitioner. They provide infectious disease consultation and follow-up care for 3 health care systems. Their case mix is diverse, and they see the full breath of infectious diseases including routine plus exotic bacterial, fungal, mycobacterial, and viral infections. They also provide comprehensive HIV care to over 900 patients through their Ryan White Funded HIV clinic and outpatient office settings.  There are 2 fellowship positions per year for their 2-year training fellowship. They also provide antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention, microbiology, travel medicine, and research educational opportunities.
We seek candidates with five (5) or more years of experience as an active faculty member role in an ACGME accredited internal medicine residency or infectious disease fellowship for the role of Infection Disease Program Director. The person in this role will assume authority and accountability for administration and operations; teaching and scholarly activity; fellow recruitment and selection, evaluation, and promotion of fellows, and disciplinary action; supervision of fellows; fellow education in the context of patient care; provide approval, oversight and removal of program faculty. He/she will administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating the fellows in each of the ACGME competency areas. He/she will oversee and ensure the quality of didactic, clinical and scholarly education in all sites, to not only meet but, excel at accreditation requirements. He/she will design and conduct the training program consistent with needs of the community, the mission of the program, the hospital, and the health system.
Candidates must have a Medical Degree from an Accredited School of Medicine and hold a Pennsylvania State Medical License (or have the ability to gain this licensure). Must be Board Certified in Infectious Disease. Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in active faculty member role in an ACGME accredited internal medicine residency or infectious disease fellowship.
